Ilmy ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Ilmy mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. Authentication is handled securely by Clerk (clerk.com).
Usage Data
We collect information about how you use the app, including lessons completed, questions answered, streak data, and learning progress. This data is used to personalize your experience and display your progress.
Device Information
We collect basic device information including your device timezone, which is used to accurately calculate your daily learning streak.
Location Data
If you enable prayer time notifications, we collect your approximate location (latitude and longitude) solely to calculate accurate prayer times for your area. Location data is stored on our servers and is never sold or shared with third parties.
Push Notification Tokens
If you enable notifications, we store your device push token to send you learning reminders, streak alerts, and app updates.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the Ilmy learning experience
- Track your learning progress and streaks
- Send you notifications you have opted into
- Calculate prayer times based on your location
- Improve the app and fix issues
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
Clerk (clerk.com): handles user authentication and account management. Your login credentials are managed by Clerk and are subject to their privacy policy.
RevenueCat (revenuecat.com): handles in-app purchase processing. We do not store or have access to your payment information. All payments are processed by Apple and managed by RevenueCat.
Expo (expo.dev): provides the mobile app infrastructure including over-the-air updates and push notification delivery.
We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account and learning data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile tab in the app, which permanently deletes all your data from our servers within 30 days.
5. Children's Privacy
Ilmy offers a Kids mode designed for younger learners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
6. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information. All data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored securely in our database.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights, use the account settings in the app or contact us at the email below.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. Continued use of Ilmy after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
